Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By adding Formie to a Discord server, using its commands, or submitting a form or poll through it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Formie.

Formie is used through Discord, so you must also meet Discord's own age and eligibility requirements.

2. What Formie is

Formie is a Discord bot for creating forms, applications, and polls inside a Discord server. It is a self-service project: you set it up and run it yourself through slash commands, and it operates as-is.

3. Archived status

Formie has been archived since 2023 and is not actively maintained. The functionality that currently works remains available to use, but Formie does not guarantee:

• future updates or new features
• bug fixes
• compatibility with future changes to Discord or its API
• any level of uptime or availability
• continued operation of the service

4. Free version

The free version of Formie includes:

• unlimited forms
• anonymous polls
• vote logging
• slash command setup
• response channel routing

No human support is provided to free users. The free version is offered as-is, with no promises about availability or continued operation.

5. Premium version

The paid version of Formie additionally unlocks:

• your own branded bot
• a custom name and avatar
• removal of Formie branding
• a custom bot status
• custom commands
• human support

The premium payment is a one-time, non-recurring payment. It is not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is charged automatically.

By purchasing the premium version, you acknowledge that:

• the payment is one-time and non-recurring
• all sales are final
• if Formie permanently ceases operations, no refunds will be issued, except where a refund is legally required
• no refund is provided simply because you change your mind, stop using Formie, or the service becomes unavailable due to Discord changes, technical issues, or discontinuation, except where applicable law requires otherwise

6. Payment and hosting

Formie is a self-service project and does not operate as a traditional subscription service. Payments for the premium version go towards the hosting and infrastructure costs required to keep Formie running, and where applicable are made directly to the hosting provider. Formie does not keep these payments as operating profit.

Where a payment is described as a donation, it is a voluntary contribution towards running costs. Formie is not a charity or a nonprofit organisation, and contributions are not tax-deductible.

You are responsible for any taxes, fees, or charges that apply to you under your own local law.

7. Refunds

All sales are final. Refunds are not provided for a change of mind, for reduced use of the service, or because the service becomes unavailable through Discord changes, technical problems, or discontinuation. Refunds are issued only where required by applicable law.

8. Support

Formie is self-service. Free users receive no human support.

Human support is included with the premium version. It is provided on a reasonable-effort basis and does not come with a guaranteed response time, a guaranteed fix, or a guaranteed outcome. Because Formie is archived, some issues may not be fixable at all.

9. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use Formie and for the content you create or collect with it, including forms, questions, responses, images, and polls.

• Use Formie lawfully and in line with Discord's rules and policies.
• Do not use Formie to collect content that is illegal, harmful, or harassing, or to expose minors to inappropriate content.
• If you run forms that collect information from members of your server, you are responsible for telling them what you collect it for and for handling it appropriately.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, abuse, reverse engineer, or interfere with Formie or with other people's use of it.

Formie may restrict or block access where it is being abused or used in a way that breaks these terms.

10. Relationship with Discord

Formie is an independent, third-party Discord bot. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc. Discord is a trademark of its respective owner.

Your use of Discord remains governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and policies, and you are responsible for complying with them.

11. Availability, changes, and discontinuation

Formie is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

Formie may be modified, limited, suspended, or permanently discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, with or without notice. Individual features may stop working, for example if Discord changes its platform or API. This is particularly relevant because Formie has already been archived since 2023.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Formie is not liable for any loss or damage arising from:

• service interruptions, downtime, or reduced performance
• Discord outages, platform changes, or API changes
• bugs, errors, or unexpected behaviour
• loss, corruption, or deletion of data, forms, responses, or poll results
• failures of third-party infrastructure, hosting, or services
• the permanent discontinuation of Formie

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum extent the law allows, and in any case does not exceed the amount you paid for the premium version.

13. Privacy

Information handled by Formie is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Updated terms are published on this page with a new "last updated" date, and they apply from the moment they are published. Continuing to use Formie after a change means you accept the updated terms.
